Denise Lisa photographed local masseuses who practiced "bodywork" style of massage for Nexus magazine circa January 1984. The corresponding article that was published in Nexus Magazine's January 1984 edition was titled "Maintain well-being through Bodywork" and was written by Tom Meyer, a bodywork masseuse.

Denise Lisa was a local photographer for San Diego Pride, The Gayzette Magazine and Nexus Magazine. Nexus had a very short run of 7 issues, released from October 1983 to April 1984. Most of the photos and negatives are related to Nexus articles.
